Trump returns to Washington ahead of tax-reform push

President Trump and his family returned to Washington on Sunday after spending the holiday at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, kicking off what is expected to be an eventful week in the nation’s capital.

Trump, first lady Melania Trump and their son Barron touched down at Joint Base Andrews at 6:14 p.m., according to a pool report.

Trump is preparing for Senate Republicans to potentially pass tax reform this week, which would be the party’s first major legislative victory since taking hold of the White House and Congress.

The president will visit Capitol Hill on Tuesday to meet with Senate Republicans in the midst of the tax-reform push.
