Mamaroneck mayoral candidates weigh in on board politics, Ralph’s

MAMARONECK – Two veterans of village politics will face off for mayor in Nov. 7’s general election.

Tom Murphy, a Democrat and former Village of Mamaroneck trustee, and George Mgrditchian, a Republican and president of the Orienta Point Association, are vying for the seat.

Mayor Norman Rosenblum, a Republican, is not seeking reelection.

Both candidates have received backing from their respective parties.

Murphy, 56, was a village trustee until 2009 and is a currently a town councilman.

“I have a track history of accomplishing things in the village and I believe I have the knowledge and experience of government,” he said.

Mgrditchian, 57, is the former chairman of the local Republican Party.
