Two weeks after Robert Mueller's prosecutors dropped new accusations of witness tampering on him, US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson Friday revoked Manafort's bail, which allowed him out on house arrest. The judge emphasized to Manafort how she could not make enough rulings to keep him from speaking improperly with witnesses, after he had used multiple text messaging apps and called a potential witness on an Italian cell phone. Manafort also entered a not guilty plea to two additional charges levied against him last week, for witness tampering and conspiracy to obstruct justice. In total, Manafort faces seven criminal charges in DC federal court. In her wind-up to her order, Berman Jackson also gave a brief nod to the bitter environment around the case. It didn't come through, according to the court filings. Prosecutors have argued all along the jet-setting political consultant was a significant flight risk. The prosecutors appeared to agree with the plan, according to court filings. The witness tampering allegations, which also resulted in new criminal charges, were enough Friday for him to lose his house arrest privileges. The judge has allowed him to travel a few times for special exceptions, such as to his father-in-law's funeral on Long Island and his godson's baptism in Virginia.

Prosecutors have filed a new indictment against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort that also names as a defendant Konstantin Kilimnik, a close business colleague of Manafort's who prosecutors have said has close ties to Russian intelligence.

Donald Trump Jr met with an emissary for foreign governments seeking to help his father’s presidential campaign three months before the 2016 election, the New York Times reported on Saturday. Also present, the paper said, were an Israeli specialist in social media manipulation, Joel Zamel, and Erik Prince, the founder of the private military contractor formerly known as Blackwater. The special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating that interference and alleged links between Trump aides and Moscow. During the Trump Tower meeting, the Times said, George Nader, the emissary for the two crown princes, indicated that leaders in Saudi Arabia and the UAE wished to help Trump. Alan Futerfas, a lawyer for Trump Jr, told the Times: “Prior to the 2016 election, Donald Trump Jr recalls a meeting with Erik Prince, George Nader and another individual who may be Joel Zamel. The lawyer also said Zamel had “provided full cooperation to the government to assist with their investigation”. The report cited “a senior official in Saudi Arabia” who it said denied Nader had ever been authorized to speak for the Saudi government. It was later disclosed that the encounter was arranged when the Russians offered to provide incriminating information about Clinton. The president’s son has said his father was not aware of that Trump Tower meeting. Last year, Trump embraced a Saudi-led blockade against Qatar, a key US ally, against the counsel of his foreign policy advisers.
