South Bend celebrates Dyngus Day with Polish sausage, beer and politics

It is Dyngus Day Monday. This is the unofficial start of the campaign season and a day for eating Polish food. Our local lawmakers weighing in on the new tariffs. We caught up with both Indiana Democratic Senator Joe Donnelly and Republican Congresswoman Jackie Walorski as they kicked off their respective Dyngus Day celebrations. “Very concerned for our AG sector. We have an obligation to make sure we get it right for the steel industry in northwest Indiana and throughout the state. But at the same time, we can do this in a smart and targeted way so that AG isn't hit like this, and its concern to agriculture. “I've been very outspoken on this issue. Dyngus Day is celebrated here in Michiana on the day after Easter. It's often known as the unofficial kickoff to the political season with heaping plates of sausage, noodles and cabbage.
