The Conservative Party has pledged to greatly reduce the quality of food served during school lunch to stop poor, hungry children from stealing it. The pledge comes on back of news that impoverished children has resorted to filling their pockets with food from school because their parents are struggling to put food on the table at home. ‘This is absolutely unacceptable in a nation like Great Britain. We must do something about it and act fast. That is why we’re pledging to reduce the quality of food served at state schools so that no-one would ever want to eat it,’ said the Secretary of State for Education. It’s also being suggested that any child being caught stealing food have their parents heavily fined for the infringement. ‘You’ve got to teach children while they’re young that this sort of behaviour is simply not on,’ said one Conservative minister whilst eating a £60 lunch they’ll be charging to their expense account. Dinnerladies have been urged to report any theft they see and may receive a bonus for doing so.
