Sen. Lena Taylor disputes the finding that she bullied an office staff worker and also addressed allegations she used a racial slur against a bank employee. Michael Sears, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel State Sen. Lena Taylor said Wednesday that her removal this week from the Legislature's powerful Joint Finance Committee was a "political lynching." Taylor was removed this week from the committee after it was revealed that Senate human resources investigators found that she had bullied her staff and retaliated against one employee for using family and medical leave. "If you want to get paid, you have to show up" for work," Taylor said at Wednesday's news conference. Taylor said she called Johnson to congratulate her. Taylor complained that the human resources official who interviewed her and the employee was the same individual who rendered judgment and who did not follow a Senate complaint resolution process requiring a review to be done within 80 days. On Wednesday, she defended herself again, saying comments to the bank employee were not racist. "I don't think this is a coincidence (that) all the different entities have taken action," Walker said. Taylor is serving her fourth term representing the 4th Senate District.
