Week In Politics: The Redacted Mueller Report Is Out

NPR's Audie Cornish speaks with David Brooks of The New York Times and E.J. He laid out a very good case on obstruction but felt he couldn't charge him because of the Justice Department rule that says you can't indict a president. CORNISH: Let me let David jump in here because you looked at this existentially, that there are a broadly kind of three-pronged threat, looking at Russia being one of them, Julian Assange and WikiLeaks another and then the White House itself, Donald Trump. He's always trying to interfere with investigations, do things that are against the rules. And so that undermines our sort of governmental infrastructure. The Russians are undermining our informational infrastructure by introducing falsehoods into the public debate. CORNISH: I want to go back to the attorney general's press conference. BROOKS: Well, I'd given him faith that he was being accurate in what was in the report. There have been some more moves among Senate Republicans. DIONNE: Well, yeah, that's two, right, exactly - maybe David, too.

Women detail sexual allegations against Trump

Washington (CNN)A group of women who have publicly accused President Donald Trump of sexual harassment and assault detailed their accounts of being groped, fondled and forcibly kissed by the businessman-turned-politician at a news conference on Monday. At least 15 women have come forward with accusations against Trump ranging from sexual harassment and misconduct to sexual assault, including unwanted kissing and groping. On Monday, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said that the allegations took place "long before he was elected president" and that Trump has "addressed these accusations directly and denied all of these allegations." "The President has denied any of these allegations, as have eyewitnesses," Sanders said. Leeds added that while some areas of society are "being held accountable for unwanted behavior ... we are not holding our President accountable for what he is and who he is." "The events never happened. And I think we heard from them prior to the election. Two Democratic senators -- Cory Booker of New Jersey and Jeff Merkley of Oregon -- called for Trump to resign over the multiple accusations of sexual harassment and sexual assault against him. "I just watched Sen. Al Franken do the honorable thing and resign from his office," Booker said. "My question is, why isn't Donald Trump doing the same thing -- who has more serious allegations against him, with more women who have come forward.

Watch Live: White House Gives First Press Briefing Since DACA Announcement

Watch Live: White House Gives First Press Briefing Since DACA Announcement. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders will give a press briefing Tuesday afternoon just hours after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the Trump Administration's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program which protects immigrants who came to the U.S. as children from deportation. Speaking at the Department of Justice Tuesday, Sessions recommended that the administration start rolling back the DACA program, which was created by former President Obama. The Trump Administration said it decided to phase out the program after the threat of legal action from Republican attorneys general from nine states against DACA. “The program known as DACA that was effectuated under the Obama Administration is being rescinded,” Sessions said. The fate of Dreamers, or those who have benefitted from DACA, will be determined by Congress, which has a six-month delay to develop a policy. Sanders is likely to face questions on the rescinding of DACA . Watch the press briefing live above.
