[Daily News Staff Photo/Zane Razzaq] A new poster series examining Cuban political history is on display at the Goodnow Library in Sudbury. Stephen Lewis, a retired union leader who organized the show, has 8,000 posters in his personal collection. Selected from his personal collection of 8,000, the brightly colored posters range from film posters to support for the 1959 revolution that swept Fidel Castro into power. “Some of my posters go back a century ago. It’s amazing that some of the posters are still relevant today,” said Lewis, of Malden. In 1959, Cubans revolted against dictator Fulgencio Batista, with the broad support of most peasants and workers. He said many Americans have a negative perception of the Communist nation because of the two countries’ adversarial relationship. Some posters were collected during trips Lewis took to Cuba.
