Boris Johnson has made the bold statement that a bridge connecting Britain and France should be constructed, as long as ‘the frogs pay for it’. The former London mayor believes that now is the time to physically unite Britain and continental Europe with a twenty-plus mile bridge that would cost an estimated £1.2 billion. While critics of the plan have called it a needless expense, Boris doesn’t believe that to be the case. ‘I think that figure represents excellent value for money when you consider how much we spent uniting the Conservative Party with the DUP. And we’d make the frogs pay for it all anyway,’ said Mr Johnson. The bridge would allow Brits to drive to France in case they didn’t feel like taking any of the current and much more feasible options of rail, ship or air travel. Boris Johnson has already drawn-up detailed architectural plans for the bridge, which he completed with his very best set of crayons. The plans, along with a demand for money, were sent to France last night. They have already responded with a firm ‘non’. ‘I eagerly await the translation of their answer,’ an excited Boris told us.
