Election Preview 2018: 92nd Legislative District

“The first thing the Pennsylvania House should address in the new term is cleaning up our state government. The people of Pennsylvania want politicians that care about what the people care about, not just what the large-dollar donors and special interests are pushing. The amount of money influencing the decisions made in the capitol is astounding, and this is not the way our government was intended to work. Gerrymandering has put Pennsylvania in the spotlight this year, and while we have new congressional districts, our state legislators were unaffected by the change. Establish a law that would not allow the confiscation of a person’s primary dwelling for lack of property tax payment. Implement the fair funding formula on all education dollars, not just new monies, as currently exists in law. Rein in regulations that are costly and taking dollars from the actual education of students 4. Shift from property tax to an earned income tax, sales tax expansion/increase, another broad-based tax or a combination of the aforementioned.
