It’s time for a new day in politics

Participating in this election has been one of the most engaging and rewarding aspects of my career. I started my campaign as a concerned citizen. Since then, I’ve had the privilege to meet people all across our community who have made me better informed and more empathetic to many of the problems we’re facing here and in the rest of the state. It’s time to change the status quo for the people of the 3rd Legislative District by electing a genuine leader who will fight for them.

As a first-time candidate, not beholden to PACs or party, I value people above politics. Unlike our current representative for the 3rd District (Position 2), I have knocked on thousands of doors across Spokane from Hillyard to Kendall Yards, from Garland to Five Mile, from Sprague to Shadle, and more, talking to people from all walks of life about what policies truly matter to them. Many feel alienated from state government. I care about their concerns and I intend to be the representative our community deserves.

I have repeatedly invited my opponent to stand with me before the voters and debate. He has declined each attempt while offering no alternatives, just excuses. In fact, he has never debated anyone in his 15 years holding office. More politics as usual, and the same types of excuses he has made as to why he failed to deliver probation officers to Spokane to supervise nonviolent felony car thefts (SB 5539). The bill passed through the Senate on a bipartisan effort sponsored by local senators. Under his watch, in the committee that he chairs, it died.

My opponent was also the only Spokane legislator to oppose making a fourth DUI conviction in 10 years…
