To run for public office, whether it be federal, state or local office, one should have concerns and interest of the people in their jurisdiction. There are others, most of the time running for that same office. Each should show respect for the other, but do they?

It is obvious that modern-day politician is running rampant on bad-mouthing their opponent that seeks the same position. When I say bad-mouthing I mean mudslinging. Each side competing tries to make the other candidate look like a criminal of sorts. The ethics and behavior of many candidates have sunk to the lowest of levels when talking about their opponent.

It is beyond my imagination that candidates think they must belittle their opponent and point out all the sinful and unpatriotic actions of the other. A recent example of this hogwash was in the last presidential election.

It is my opinion that most people are like myself and want to hear what the candidate’s plans are, and what they want to accomplish to better our part of the world. We do not care to hear about their opponent’s…
