A majority of Republicans agree with President Donald Trump’s assertion that the media is the enemy of the American people, according to a new Quinnipiac poll released on Tuesday.
Republicans, however, are in a minority on the issue. About 65% of those polled said they believe the news media is “an important part of democracy,” while 26% of voters said the media is the enemy of the people. About 51% of Republicans polled said they believed ” the news media is the enemy of the people. Five percent of Democrats and 24% of independents responded the same.
