Two killed in Northern California wildfire now threatening 5,000 buildings

A fast-growing wildfire swept through parts of Northern California, killing two people, threatening 5,000 buildings and forcing mass evacuations as it moved into the city limits of Redding, authorities said. The Carr Fire ravaged the small communities of Shasta and Keswick before jumping the Sacramento River and burning houses on the outskirts of Redding.
