The U.S. attorney general from Alabama spent a week up to his neck in controversy because of the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy toward people sneaking into the country illegally.

Unless you recently immigrated here from another planet, you know that the biggest point of controvery in that policy was that it separated more parents from their children while they were being detained. Sessions drew fire early and often when he cited Paul’s Epistle to the Romans to justify strict enforcement of the law.

Smothered, covered, chunked, diced and pepper-sprayed?:

You never know who you’re going to run into at Waffle House at 5 a.m.

A woman was at the Waffle House in Leeds early Thursday morning and said a bear ran through the parking lot and just behind her car.

Which is probably a better wake-up than half a pot of coffee.

Fortunately, she got video of the fellow:

Deputies say they were able to re-capture accused rapist Courtnee Austin after he had escaped from a hospital and was later found in an alleged crack house.

The reason for the hospital visit? Austin had claimed to have swallowed a razor blade.

Christian told reporter Carol Robinson:

“He caused us a night of aggravation, but if he passes the razor blade we will call it even.”

Get well, Bubba:

Half of the popular Birmingham-based radio duo Rick and Bubba had an apparently successful heart procedure on Friday.

Surgeons placed two stents inside Bill “Bubba” Bussey.
