Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, who recently visited a detention center in Washington State for moms separated from their children, spoke to NBC’s Chris Jansing about the experience women have in detention centers: ‘The mothers literally sitting in a room next to where the children were being held and could hear their children screaming,” adding, “They call it ‘the dog pound’, because it looks like a kennel with cages that they are held in.”
