Johnson: Tax proposals should ‘be weighted toward economic growth’

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), the only Senate Republican so far to come out against the upper chamber’s tax reform legislation, said Thursday that the bill should “be weighted toward economic growth.”

“The tax proposal should all be weighted toward economic growth,” Johnson told CNN’s “New Day.”

Johnson said spurring the economy is critical for addressing the country’s growing debt, which stands at more than $20 trillion.
